In Excel when performing a
Find (or Replace), the default is to
search and Find cells that contain
any part of the search criteria.
For example, in the
spreadsheet displayed below, if a search for
Chocolate was set up, the results would return to each cell
since a "part" of Chocolate is contained in all the cells in the sample.
To skip the cells that
contain any part of
Chocolate during a search follow the
steps below.
- From the Edit menu select
Find (or
Replace).
- Click the Options button in
the lower right corner and this will expand the box.
- Click the Match Entire Cell Contents
box and then click Find All
or Find Next. Excel will
find cells that contain Chocolate
only not Chocolate plus other data.
