In many cases e-mail accounts
are set up such that the Sender's name is also the sender's proper name
(e.g. Laura Noble) versus the company name (e.g. Noble Software
Solutions).
It is quite easy to change
the Sender name, so that when people receive emails from you, your
company name (or any name you desire) is displayed in the Inbox. In the
sample below, Noble Software Solutions - We
Make It Click! is the name that will be displayed in people's
Inbox when an e-mail is received.
Below are instructions for
changing the user information in
Outlook
and
Outlook Express.
Outlook:
- In the main Outlook
window, select Tools,
E-Mail Accounts.
- Select
View or change existing e-mail accounts.
- A list of email
accounts will be displayed. Click on the email account to update and
then click on the Change
button.
- In the
User Information section click in
the Your Name box and fill in
the name you would like displayed as the Sender.
- Click the
Next button.
- Click the
Finish button.
Outlook Express:
- In the main
Outlook
Express
window select Tools,
Accounts.
- Click the
Mail
tab.
- A list of email
accounts will be displayed. Click on the email account to update and
then click on the Properties
button.
- In the
User Information section click
in the Name box
and fill in the name you would like displayed as the Sender.
- Click
OK and then click the
Close button.
Return to Changing Name in Outlook.
